Cake_guide

We know there's a lot of things to decide when ordering a celebration cake.🎂 No matter how big or small it is, you want it to be perfect. 👌 So here at Create A Cake, we've pulled together a handy guide which will hopefully give you some tips and guidance in answering any important questions you may have.📝

HOW MANY SERVINGS WILL MY CAKE FEED?

First things first, 'What size cake do I need?' we hear you ask!

Cake sizes and servings depend entirely on;

1. The shape of your cake and

2. Who is cutting the cake! (Technically if you don't cut up a cake and just eat the whole thing with a fork, you only had one slice right?!🤣)

For the purpose of our handy cake servings chart and cake size guide, we've based our cake slice on the industry benchmark cake size portions. 🍰 With celebration/party portions measuring 1.5 inch x 2 inch 🎉 and wedding cake slices measuring 1 inch x 2 inch in size. 💒

⚠️ Please remember this is only intended as a guide to help you determine how many servings you’ll get from your cake. We cannot be held responsible for shortfalls in portions.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CAKE TIERS & LAYERS?

You've hopefully now mastered cake sizes and different cake servings, next thing to consider is if you would like a single tier or multiple tiered cake? People often get tiers and layers confused when It comes cake.😕

Layered Cakes - A layered cake is made up of multiple stacked cake sponges that are all the exact same size. They are held together with a layer of frosting or filling.👍

Tiered Cakes - A tiered cake on the other hand is made up of multiple layered cakes all of different sizes and stacked on top of each other. 🙌 Tiered cakes are more traditional for weddings, however lately have become more common for other celebrations too. Tiered cakes can create height, drama and become more of a focal point for a party.🥳
